Do you set guidelines for dental assistants in Alberta??
No, we don’t set those guidelines. Our Standards of Practice require that dental assistants meet or exceed the Alberta Dental Association and College’s Infection Prevention and Control Standards and Risk Management for Dentistry and any other guidelines or legislation necessary to meet the current standard of care.
Why do we regulate dentists in Alberta??
Our mandate is to protect the public. We do this by regulating our members through annual registration and continuing competence so Albertans are assured of safe, quality oral health care. We’d like to introduce you to the four dental assistants who were recently elected to our Council.
