If you’d like to renew your license sticker in person, you can locate the nearest ServiceOntario location and hours here. Be aware it may be very busy, so set aside a good amount of time to visit. Most locations are open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Some are also open Saturday mornings until 1pm, but they’re always closed on public holidays.

TORONTO – The Ontario government is reinstating renewal requirements for driver’s licences, licence plate stickers, Ontario Photo Cards, Ontario health cards, and other products that would have expired on or after March 1, 2020, but were extended to provide immediate relief to Ontarians during the COVID-19 pandemic.
What are the changes to Ontario’s licence plate sticker fees??
Effective March 13, 2022, Ontario will be removing licence plate renewal fees and the requirement to have a valid licence plate sticker for motorcycles, mopeds, light-duty trucks, and passenger vehicles. All licence plate sticker fees paid between March 1, 2020 and March 12, 2022 for vehicles owned by inpiduals will receive a direct refund.
When do I need to renew my licence plate sticker (s)??
Licence plate stickers for all other vehicles must be renewed by February 28, 2022. If you did not renew your licence plate sticker (s) during the Extended Validity period, you will be required to pay the renewal fee for the previous year (s) and the current year renewal fee.
