What is a surcingle??
A surcingle encircles a horse's heart girth, acting as a mini-saddle and girth. For ground driving, the trainer runs long lines through the surcingle's side rings in a horse's early training and then through the top terrets or rings as the horse advances.

A training surcingle, sometimes called a "roller," has many extra rings attached, running from the ribcage up to the withers area. It usually has padding to relieve pressure on the horse's spine.
What are training surcingles made of??
Training surcingles at their basic form is a strap designed from leather, nylon or neoprene that fastens around the horse's girth commonly with attached rings for additional pieces of training tack. We offer several styles of training surcingles from Premier, Billy Royal® and Dura-Tech®.
