Students who apply to Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts must complete two applications: The SOTA application is available online beginning November 16, 2020 and is due by January 15, 2021. The SFUSD general application will be available through ParentVue and on the EPC website beginning October 26th, 2020, and is due by February 5, 2021.

She co-founded the Alvarado Arts Workshop in 1968 and was instrumental in the opening of the first public arts high school in San Francisco in 1982, which was renamed the Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts in her honor in 2010.
