What is the Vaganova Ballet Academy??
The Vaganova Ballet Academy offers annual International Trainee Program of ballet education for ballet students aged 16-20 from September 01 to June 30. Candidates for VITP are admitted through audition during the entire year.

The Vaganova Method is designed to activate the entire body with every movement. Equal attention is given to the upper body, legs and feet. This teaching method promotes the dancer’s consciousness of the body to create harmony of movement and greater range of expression.

Who was the first ballet teacher in Russia??
The first Russian teacher to join the school was Ivan Valberg. After the spread of ballet in Europe, the development of the school was influenced by a number of other teachers and methods, including Christian Johannson, a student of August Bournonville, and the Italian methods of Enrico Cecchetti, Pierina Legnani and Carlotta Brianza.
